Meriden Pride Community Center
Meriden Pride is 100% ran by volunteers. That includes the committee! We can’t begin to thank everyone enough who shows up for our community, whether it be at a parade, a fest, or our center. You are the heart of Meriden Pride, and we could not have the impact we have without you. Thank you for being you.
Our volunteer appreciation party is this Tuesday at Grace’s Place from 6-8:30 p.m. Mix and mingle with other volunteers and have some food and mocktails, on us. (Email us if you have any dietary restrictions.) If you want to volunteer with us, keep scrolling to learn more about upcoming opportunities.
Gayme Night is this Wednesday! This week, we’re featuring Dragonlings. As always, you’re welcome to bring other games, including TCGs. Join us at Grace’s Place from 5-8 p.m. for a laid-back evening.
Slay,

Lesbian Aunts Day

Lesbian Aunts Day is July 13. Image credit: Lyds ☆ Aunt Jane's wife
Traditional family holidays like Mother’s Day or Father’s Day tend to center heteronormative, nuclear family structures. Lesbian Aunts Day (alongside Gay Uncles Day in August) was carved out to shatter that mold, honoring the diverse ways our community shows up to love and mentor the next generation.
For many queer youth, a lesbian aunt is more than just a cool adult. She is a vital lifeline, a mirror, and proof that a beautiful, authentic queer future is possible. She provides a safe space to talk and a model of resilience. If you’re lucky enough to have a lesbian aunt, give her a call tomorrow.
